Kian completed his master’s degree in neuroscience, supported by the CIHR Canada Graduate Scholarship. His research focuses on infant neurophysiology and behavior in relation to postpartum depression. Kian uses tools such as functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS), electroencephalography (EEG), and electrocardiography (ECG) to assess emotion regulation in mother-infant dyads and evaluate the effectiveness of cognitive behavioral therapy for treating postpartum depression. Outside of his research, Kian is passionate about science communication and hosts SciSection, a science-themed radio show on the 93.3 FM radio station.
