Kyra Cheverie-Saito

Honours Psychology, Neuroscience & Behaviour Student, BSc

Kyra is a fourth-year undergraduate student in the Honours Psychology, Neuroscience & Behaviour (BSc) Program at McMaster University. She completed her thesis with the lab last year which looked at the Ages & Stages Questionnaire Scores of infants of mothers with Postpartum Depression (PPD) who underwent Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) vs. infants of mothers who did not. Kyra is currently working on the fNIRS study on the impact of PPD on infant emotion regulation. She partakes in study visits utilizing various technologies, such as: EEG, fNIRS, and heart-rate variability, in addition to data analyses. Outside of research, Kyra is passionate about 2SLGBTQ+ advocacy, as well as working on de-stigmatizing various mental illnesses. In her free time, she enjoys camping, spending time with friends, and caring for her cat Stewart. Kyra is working towards becoming a clinical psychologist with the hopes of eventually starting her own practice.
