Kian is a first-year master’s student in the Neuroscience Graduate Program. Kian’s research is focused on assessing the impact of maternal postpartum depression on infant emotion regulation. In his work, Kian utilizes fNIRS imaging to understand brain connectivity in mother-infant dyads. Moreover, he uses physiological measurements such as EEG and heart-rate variability to quantify the effectiveness of cognitive behavioural therapy for postpartum depression treatment.  Outside of his research, Kian is passionate about science communication and hosts SciSection, a science-themed radio show on the 93.3 FM radio station. He also enjoys travelling, reading, and playing the piano.
